Holy Cow!!!! Gas Prices!!!!!

This post really has nothing to do with anything regarding the theme of this blog.

What is going on with gas prices? I haven't had to put gas in my car for the past 4 days so I haven't really noticed. But on Thursday of last week it was $3.12 a gallon. Which still isn't good but relatively cheap compared to the rest of the country. This morning it was $3.35!!!!!! I have a little Hyundai Elantra and it cost $46 to fill the take! I make a pretty good living. I can not see how someone with kids and a mortgage making $50,000 a year could afford to drive to work anymore. My car gets good gas mileage at 30 MPG but most cars are in that 20 to 25 MPG range.

Bottom line the prices are insane!

Is something being done in the near future to correct this?

People will need a part time job to pay for gas to get to their full time job soon.

Questions NOT to Ask During a Job Interview

I spent a lot of time covering questions that interviewers will ask you during a job interview and what is the best way to answer those questions. What about the questions you should be asking? Yes, you should be asking questions during your job interview.

Here is a list of
questions you should NOT ask during the job interview. I have interviewed thousands of people over many years for various positions and I am always surprised how few questions applicants ask during the interview process. This is a place you are going to be spending 40 hours a week at and will be depending on to feed you and pay your bills. Shouldn't you have some questions to evaluate if it is the right opportunity for you?

Here is a
list of questions you should NOT ask during the job interview. You never ask questions just for the sake of asking questions, everyone should have a purpose. But a bad questions could easily cost you the position.

I once was interviewing a woman for a position I was looking to fill. The interview was going great and she had great experience. I was anticipating setting up a second interview. At the end of the interview I asked "Do you have any questions?".  This great candidate asked the king of kings worst
question that you should never ask on a job interview, "How important is it to be at work on time with this organization?". She was not asked back for a second interview. Learn more questions you should not ask during the job interview.

Common Job Interview Questions

I've just updated a new page http://jpcservicesinc.com/JobInterviewQuestions.html

Here I have put a list of common job interview questions along with answers. Answers is probably the wrong term, more like suggestions because every answer should be customized to best fit you. What I have done is listed questions that interviewers commonly ask and why they ask them. This will put you in the best position to answer them and land the job you are interviewing for.

I was really motivated to finish this page the past week because I am actively interviewing people at my organization for a position. I have been really surprised how horrible people are at interviewing and answering very common questions. Interviewing is a skill that needs to be learned and hopefully http://jpcservicesinc.com/JobInterviewQuestions.html will be useful to people.
