It is with a heavy heart that I must say that Mylot.com is a bust. For over 2 years I have been a great advocate of this way to make money from home in your spare time to be greatly disappointed. After a long period of time and work I was finally starting to make real income from this program to all of a sudden to no longer to be able to log into my account.

Now I am not someone to just call something a scam. I have been consistently emailing them for the past 6 months on why I could no longer log into my account and have received no answers. I have also gone through their terms of service with a fine tooth come trying to find if I somehow violated it in any way to find nothing.

Then why can I no longer log into my account? Unfortunately like many of these programs once you get to the point of making real money where they actually have to pay you something happens. The reality is once they have to pay it is no longer profitable for them. It is a free service so primarily you just walk away when that happens.

To all people STAY AWAY from Mylot.com.

Has anyone had similar experiences they would like to share?

I wanted to share this with everyone because I am actually very surprised at the number I saw this morning when going over the revenue of one of my sites. For the month of September 2008 I actually made $220 from a survey site called Mysurvey.com. I have been a member with them probably 6 years and normally make anywhere between $50 to $90 a month from them just taking surveys. September was just insane with the opportunities they had and it looks like they are very busy this month to.

I am not saying you will absolutely make that type of money and actually you could absolutely make NO money. But they are free and completely legitimate and worth the try. Check them out and you may be able to make a couple of extra bucks this month at mysurvey.com.

Before I even say what I want to say I want to preface it with that fact that I am not a very political person and don't necessarily lean to either side. I read the paper and watch the news and try to keep myself informed on what is going on in the world and understand it. I don't think one side is good and the other evil. I think most people are just like me. Trying to get by, make a little money, make sure the family is taken care of and have some happiness.

With that being said, could things be more possibly $%^& up then they already are with our government and country? I have never in any way pontificated about my views on politics either publicly or personally. So what is leading me to do so today?

I'm sitting here eating my lunch just going through the laundry list of things I need to do; hit the grocery store, take out the trash when I get home tonight, get a hair cut tomorrow and the current condition of the USA is really horrible.

We have been in a war for 5 years now and it has lasted longer then World War II and been more expensive then the Vietnam War (when adjusted for inflation). On top of that whether you are pro or against the war no one really is able to say what is considered a win and how long it will take.

Our economy is in a freaking meltdown with no light at the end of the tunnel. They are talking about a 700 billion dollar plus bail out of companies and people that have acted financially irresponsible. Where is that money coming from? Last time I got over my head in debt I got a second job working from home. No one was going to help me.

Finally at the current tax bracket I am at a 1/3 of my income goes to taxes. That means I have to work for the government 4 month of every year before I get any money.

There is no point to this post. I'm going back to my sandwich.
It is not a child but a website that I recently finished that I am proud of Total Leather Solutions. I now there are tons of people out there that can do better but I'm proud of it. It has also resulted in some sales for the client already so that is great to. If you need some leather cleaner and conditioner you should definetly check them out. They also offer free shipping.

This is another example of how you can make some extra money online. This is a family friend so it was only a few hundred dollars for them to have me do it and since they weren't in any big hurry I did a little when I got the chance. Everybody won and is happy.

This post really has nothing to do with anything regarding the theme of this blog.

What is going on with gas prices? I haven't had to put gas in my car for the past 4 days so I haven't really noticed. But on Thursday of last week it was $3.12 a gallon. Which still isn't good but relatively cheap compared to the rest of the country. This morning it was $3.35!!!!!! I have a little Hyundai Elantra and it cost $46 to fill the take! I make a pretty good living. I can not see how someone with kids and a mortgage making $50,000 a year could afford to drive to work anymore. My car gets good gas mileage at 30 MPG but most cars are in that 20 to 25 MPG range.

Bottom line the prices are insane!

Is something being done in the near future to correct this?

People will need a part time job to pay for gas to get to their full time job soon.

People ask me all the time how I make money online. What people don't realize is that it is a combination of things and not just one program or system. Also that it took me years and years to figure out. Now people see the final "product" of me making a very nice living working from home but not the years of me falling for every scam out there.

You can make money from home with out investing any money. It will take time and work but definetly doable. This post will be the first of many outlining the different avenues a utilize to generate income online. Some of these will be a good fit for you and others will not. But ultimately nothing will be costing you any money, that I can guarantee you.

You will not see any get rich quick schemes or programs. You will also not see any type of selling of products. Everything I will be outlining you can do with just your brain and a computer with internet access.

I thought it would be appropiate to have the first part of this series to be about making money blogging, since that is what I am doing right now. There are many free blogging platforms that you can use. The free platform I am using is blog.com but there are many other good ones like wordpress.com and blogger.com. It is ultimately up to you. They are all free and have pretty much the same functionality.

The very first thing you need to do is start blogging. Realistically for a blog to generate income you need to get people reading it. The easiest and free way to gain those visitors is blogging on a consistent basis (3 to 4 times a week) about a topic you enjoy. The fun part is that it can be about whhatever you want. It is important that it be a topic you are interested in because you need to keep producing content. If you consistently post, in about 2 to 3 months you will see that you will begin to gain significant visitors (traffic) from serach engine (Google, Yahoo, MSN). (You can find out more about marketing a blog by clicking here.)

The hardest part is over. You've blogged and blogged for months without making a dime and are finally getting traffic. Now it is time to monetize your traffic. What does that mean? Start making money from the people coming to your site. I'm going to recommend two ways. These two strategies are the basics and all the other options out there are variations on these two.

The very first way is through something like Google Adsense or Yahoo. These are programs that pay you every time one of your visitors clicks the ads posted on your site. I have been using Google for years and make significant income every month from ad revenue. Some people like Yahoo but ultimately it is up to you. Both are free to join and good programs. You can learn more about Google adwords by clicking below.
The second route I use to make money from my blog is a site called pay per post. This is still based around ad revenue, but a little different approach then Google or Yahoo. This is more of a blogger community who puts their services out to bid. You make money by advertisers bidding on advertising on your site. You can also make money by posting your blogging sevices and getting hired. Once again this is absolutely free to join. The major requirement to be part of this community is that your blog has to be active for at least three months. By active it means that you have to post at least once a week to join.

People ask me all the time how I make money online. What people don’t realize is that it is a combination of things and not just one program or system. Also that it took me years and years to figure out. Now people see the final “product” of me making a very nice living working from home but not the years of me falling for every scam out there.

You’ve blogged and blogged for months without making a dime and are finally getting traffic. Now it is time to monetize your traffic. What does that mean? Start making money from the people coming to your site. I’m going to recommend two ways.

I spent a lot of time covering questions that interviewers will ask you during a job interview and what is the best way to answer those questions. What about the questions you should be asking? Yes, you should be asking questions during your job interview.
Here is a list of questions you should NOT ask during the job interview. I have interviewed thousands of people over many years for various positions and I am always surprised how few questions applicants ask during the interview process. This is a place you are going to be spending 40 hours a week at and will be depending on to feed you and pay your bills. Shouldn't you have some questions to evaluate if it is the right opportunity for you?
